Picture of Groups, Workshops, and Events

Our center offers a variety of groups, workshops, and events to promote students’, faculty and staff’s mental wellness, with a broad range of themes tailored to the current needs of students, faculty and staff. These themes include self-exploration, career/life development, anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma and loss, relationships, gender equality, LGBT education, and etc. The educational events are presented in various forms, including lectures, movie viewings, book reading, interactive exhibitions, outdoor activities, psychological lab, and etc.

Through these groups, workshops and events, we aim to enhance students’, faculty and staff’s self-understanding and self-help skills, to increase the accessibility of the Center, and to eradicate stereotypes or prejudice toward mental disorders and cultural minority groups. With these efforts we hope everyone is willing to use our resources when needs arise.

Besides groups, workshops and events, our center also created a Stress-Relieving Space in dormitories. After the middle of each semester, our intern counselors would choose an evening to hold stress-relieving activities in the space, such as mindfulness, psychological tests with fried chicken and drinks, dried flower decorating, hand-painted gingerbread, and ect. To follow these events, please pay attention to our posts on the Facebook of the Mental Health and Counseling Center.
